Kolín District

Okres Kolin ( Kolin District ) is located in the eastern part of the Středočeský kraj. The relief of the district is just rising to slightly wavy, and from north to south. The lowest point is the surface of the river Elbe in the north ( 187 m above sea level. M. ), in the fertile Elbe Valley, the highest point is Skalka (516 m above sea level. M. ) at Kostelní Strimelice in the southwest of the district.

In 89 communities 744 km ² is home to around 90,500 inhabitants, of which 51% in the towns of Český Brod, Kolin, Kourim, Pecky, Týnec nad Labem and Zásmuky. The average age is 40.2, the highest in the county.

The character of the district can be described as industrial- agricultural denote characterized by medium-sized companies in various industries. The main industries include electrical, mechanical, chemical and printing industries. The largest employer is the carmaker TPCA (Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile).
