Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger

The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger ( KStA, also: Kölner Stadt Anzeiger ) is the daily newspaper with the highest circulation in the Cologne area. Structure of the paper

The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger includes a week ( except on Saturdays / Sundays) usually about 32 to 36 pages. History

The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger first appeared in an edition of 30,000 copies on 14 November 1876 as regional advertising supplement to the nationally appearing Cologne Gazette and was also supplied as a free direct mail to households Cologne. In October 1949, the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger appeared again. After fierce competition, it developed until the late 1950s, the leading newspaper in the Cologne region. Since 1960, Alfred Neven DuMont is the sole publisher of the Kölner Stadt- Anzeiger. Since 1962, the name of the Cologne Gazette for reasons of tradition appears as a subtitle of the Kölner Stadt- Anzeiger.

In March 2014, the Journal announced to merge four local offices for reasons of cost with the Cologne Rundschau. Affected are the editors of the districts of Rhein -Erft, Rhein- Berg, Rhein-Sieg and Euskirchen / Eifel; total of thirty editorial jobs would be eliminated. In addition, it is intended to outsource the remaining 67 local editors in a society without collective bargaining coverage. The cost savings from the restructuring is estimated at 4 million euros.

Known elements

Some elements of the Kölner Stadt -Anzeiger been published continuously over several decades and contributed to formative image of the newspaper at.
