Komodo (island)

Komodo is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands with an area of 390 km ² and a population of about 2000. It belongs to the Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara.

Geography

Komodo lies in the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands between the larger neighboring islands Sumbawa to the west and Flores to the east. To the south extends the Sumbastraße and the Savu Sea with the island of Sumba, in the north of the Floressee.
