Konoshsky District

The Konoschski rayon (Russian Коношский муниципальный район / Konoschski munizipalny rayon ) is an administrative unit within the Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. It is located south of the Oblasthauptstadt Arkhangelsk. The administrative center is the urban-type settlement Konosha.

The Konoschski rayon is located in the southwest of Arkhangelsk Oblast on the border of the Vologda Oblast. To the west of the Kargopolski Rajon rajon borders, north and east of the rayon of Njandomski Welski rayon. The area of ​​8459 km ² is Rajon.

History

The area of present-day Konoschski rajon was originally settled by Finno- Ugric tribes. Only towards the end of the 10th century, Slavic tribes settled here. The Konoschski rajon was founded on 15 July 1929 as part of the Njandomski krai ( Няндомский округ ), the Severny krai ( Северный край ).
