Konrad IX the Black
Konrad IX. of Oels ( Konrad IX " the Black ", latin Conradus Niger, . * 1415-1420; † August 14, 1471 ) was from 1450 to 1452 together with his brother Conrad X. " the young White " Duke of oil which Cosel, Steinau and semi Bytom. After the partition in 1452 he owned until his death in 1471 the territories of Cosel and Bytom, the second half of 1459 he also acquired, as well as the city of oil. He came to the Silesian Piast branch of Glogau.
Life
His parents were Conrad V. " the Kanthner " († 1439) and Margareta († 1449/50 ), their origin is unknown. 1452/53 Konrad married to Margareta († 1483/85 ), a daughter of the Duke of Mazovia Siemowit V.. The marriage came from the only daughter Barbara, who died in 1479. All male members of the House Oels bore the name Konrad, which is why they are referred to differentiate with epithets.
After the death of his father, who died in 1439 of the plague, were Konrad IX. " The black man " and his younger brother Conrad X. " the young whites" who had not yet attained the age of majority, placed under the guardianship of her uncle Konrad VII of old white men.
