Konstadinos Filippidis

Konstandínos " Kostas " Filippidis (in Greek Κωνσταντίνος Φιλιππίδης; born 26 November 1986) is a Greek pole vaulter.

In 2005 he won at the Mediterranean Games, left at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in qualifying and won the silver medal at the Universiade. In 2006, he failed at the European Championships in Gothenburg in the first round.

On 16 June 2007, he tested positive for the stimulant Etilefrin at a doping control. First, a two -year suspension imposed for a breach of the doping regulations, which was repealed in early 2009 when the new WADA Code due to the Lex - mitior principle.

A Vorrundenaus at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin in 2010 was followed by a fourth place finish at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha. At the European Championships in Barcelona he did not come forth again on the qualifications. In 2011 he finished fifth at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Paris and sixth in the World Athletics Championships in Daegu

2012 Filippidis was seventh at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul. He reached the same place at the Olympic Games in London. After the games, he jumped in Lausanne with 5.80m new national record. This he improved at the opening event of the Diamond League in Doha in 2013 to 5.82 m.

2014 won Filippidis at the World Indoor Athletics Championships gold medal.
