Konya Vilayet
The Vilayet of Konya ( Ottoman vilayet -i ولايت قونيه Konya ) was included an Ottoman province ( vilayet ), the parts of the ancient regions of Pamphylia, Pisidia, Phrygia, Lycaonia, Cilicia and Cappadocia.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the area Konya had an area of 91,620 km ², while the preliminary results of the first Ottoman census in 1885 ( published in 1908 ) determined the population of 1.0881 million.
In the year 1914, by the inhabitants of the province of 750 712 Muslims, 25,150 Cappadocian Greeks ( the Cappadocian saying) and 12,971 Armenians. By the genocide of the Armenians and the persecutions of the Greeks of the non-Muslim population largely disappeared.
