Konya Vilayet

The Vilayet of Konya ( Ottoman vilayet -i ولايت قونيه Konya ) was included an Ottoman province ( vilayet ), the parts of the ancient regions of Pamphylia, Pisidia, Phrygia, Lycaonia, Cilicia and Cappadocia.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the area Konya had an area of ​​91,620 km ², while the preliminary results of the first Ottoman census in 1885 ( published in 1908 ) determined the population of 1.0881 million.

In the year 1914, by the inhabitants of the province of 750 712 Muslims, 25,150 Cappadocian Greeks ( the Cappadocian saying) and 12,971 Armenians. By the genocide of the Armenians and the persecutions of the Greeks of the non-Muslim population largely disappeared.
