Kostelní Vydří

Kostelní Vydří ( German Kirch Wiedern ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is a place of pilgrimage and located three kilometers north- west of Dačice and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Kostelní Vydří is located on the right side of the Moravian Thaya on Vyderský creek in the southwest of Moravia in the Javořická Highlands.

Neighboring towns are Prostřední Vydří in the north, Velky Pěčín in the northeast, Maly Pěčín in the east, Dačice in the south, Dolni Němčice the southwest, Volfířov in the west and Lipová in the northwest.

History

Was first documented the village in 1310.

After Gerhard Heinrich Butz of Rolsberg 1694 had acquired the dominion Wiedern, he left in 1709, the Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel build. In the 18th century was carried out by his descendants, the expansion to the church was built the monastery.

In Kostelní Vydří is located next to Prague and Olomouc- Liboc Hejčín one of the three branches of the Carmelites in the Czech Republic.
