Kraig Nienhuis

Kraig Nienhuis ( born May 9, 1962 in Sarnia, Ontario ) is a former Austrian- Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent most of his playing career in Europe.

Career

Nienhuis began his professional career after college years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League, where he had been taken as a free agent contract. However, after his very successful rookie season, he received very little ice age and eventually graduated in 1987 his last game. He was oriented to Europe and had his first long-term commitment ESV Kaufbeuren in the German Ice Hockey League. After a short time at the Mannheimer ERC he finally signed a contract with the Austrian first division club EC KAC, where he spent four full seasons with the club and also won a title. Nienhuis was fast since he appeared in Klagenfurt at one of the crowd favorites off his attractive style of play also as an entertainer and every once came into existence as a musician. Nienhuis Austrian citizenship was granted, but he completed only one application at the national team and remained in six games without points.

In 1994, Nienhuis moved to Slovenia for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana, where he was among the Topscorern the Slovenian Hockey League and won in two seasons the league title with the club. Then he returned to Germany and spent a season with the Polar Bears Berlin. After a year in the British Ice Hockey Super League, he went back overseas and completed two seasons with the Port Huron Border Cats in the United Hockey League, before he ended his active career.

Musical career

During his career as a hockey player was Nienhuis repeatedly flashed musical talent and performed as a singer and guitarist for the pleasure of fans.
