Kristof Vliegen

Kristof Vliegen ( born June 22, 1982 in Maaseik ) is a former Belgian tennis player. Since 2001 he worked as a professional on the go. He plays right-handed.

Career

At the tournament in Chennai in 2006 he reached the semi-finals. In May 2006 he moved to Munich to the final, where he lost to Olivier Rochus the first Belgian men's singles final in the history of the ATP Tour. Vliegen reached in his career total of four finals, two in the singles and doubles competition. However, a tournament victory at the ATP Tour was denied him. Due to ongoing injury problems ended Vliegen 14 July 2011 his career.

Davis Cup 2007

In the first round of the Davis Cup in 2007 Kristof Vliegen was the guarantor for the 3-2 victory over Australia. He defeated Lleyton Hewitt 4:6, 6:4, 3:6, 6:3, 6:4 and finally brought against Chris Guccione, whom he defeated smooth 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, the decisive point. In the quarterfinals, he defeated on April 6 at the game against Germany against Tommy Haas.
