Krystian DÅ‚ugopolski

Krystian Długopolski ( born August 3, 1980 in Zakopane ) is a Polish ski jumper.

At the age of eight years Długopolski began in 1988 with the sport, already in 1997 he made his debut at sixteen internationally when he was employed at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim on the normal hill and placed there on the 44th. In November of the same year put the dressing him for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup, where he steadily improved and already in his fourth race in Courchevel reached first World Cup points than 28. Thanks to these good results of the poles was also invited to the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano - the youngest athlete of his country - here he managed with 45 points but only the last place of all jumpers. Nevertheless, he received end of the season more chances in the World Cup, he remained but without points. In the summer of 1998, the 18 -year-old managed to win the Polish Cup summer. Without points, however, he remained during the winter of 1998/99, go to him for the Summer Grand Prix with the team two top-ten results.

There followed a long break from competition Długopolskis, which lasted until December 2001. Then he returned first three contests in the Continental Cup and although he remained without points also there, he managed the end of January 2002, the comeback in the highest competition series. With the team he placed in Sapporo for the first time in the top ten, there were, however, only eleven countries have been at the start. In other Continental Cup competitions it reached its best result a 21st place, this he improved when he Fifteenth was in the following winter. Still, he remained in this class mostly without top-30 result, so he took his leave little more for the World Cup, where he started again in January 2004 after he had become in the Eleventh Continental Cup competitions of Planica. About the year 2004 across the poles convinced several times in the COC and so reached the nomination for the first competition of the Four Hills Tournament 2004/ 05 in Oberstdorf. There he collected as 28, although the second time points for the overall World Cup, although he did not go in the other competitions at the start and was only 53 overall. Instead, he focused on the Winter Universiade in 2005 in Innsbruck, where he twice made ​​a good eighth place in singles and he won the silver medal with the team. Then he reached no more points than 85th in the World Cup but he succeeded where his best result.

The summer of 2005 was quite successful for Długopolski in Hinterzarten he could be Sixth both the normal hill and as a team at the Summer Grand Prix. With these successes, he was nominated in January 2006 so far last time for the World Cup, but missed again the points. But he started again successful in the Continental Cup 2005/ 06 by finishing second when jumping from Villach, together with two equal points athletes. With a total of 145 points, he placed at the 41st place in the overall standings. In January 2007, the Polish team did not defend the silver medal at the Universiade though, after it reported fourth.
