Kukowo, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Kukowo ( German Kuckow ) is a village in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Kuckow located in Pomerania, about 13 kilometers northeast of the town of Stolp and 97 kilometers west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

History

The manor Kuckow was originally an old fief of Pomeranian genealogists of Bandemer and was still in the 20th century in their possession. Around the year 1784 there were in Kuckow a Barbican, a semi- peasant, two Kossäten, a forge and a total of four hearths ( households ).

Kuckow belonged until 1945 to the municipality Roggatz and thus to the District Lübzow district Stolp of the Prussian province of Pomerania. After the Second World War, the region was occupied in the spring of 1945 by the Red Army and subsequently placed under Polish administration. After that, the German population was expelled on the basis of the so-called Bierut Decrees of the poles.

Parish

The inhabitants of the village before 1945 were Protestant, with few exceptions. The village was the parish to Freist and thus belonged to the church Stolp City.

Administrative structure

The place is a mayor's office in the Gmina Slupsk ( Stolp rural municipality ) in the powiat Słupski ( tripping circuit) of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
