Redzikowo

Redzikowo ( German Reitz, Kashubian Redzëkòwò ) is a village in Pomerania. It now belongs to the rural community of Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the district of Slupsk the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Here was to be built by 2015 of the U.S. missile defense shield.

Geographical Location and Transport

History

The old estate village Reitz is a historic village form after a hamlet. Already in 1288 the place is mentioned in a document, confirming the Duke Mestwin II of Pomerania to the Premonstratensian nunnery in Stolp possession of the village. 1552 Reitz was owned by the family Woyten. Later the family lived here Somnitz and Krockow. The population of Reitz was until 1945, 95% Protestant.
