Kumiko Sato

Ōkawa Kumiko (Japanese大川 久 美 子, Ōkawa Kumiko, born February 22, 1946, in Osaka Prefecture ), married Kumiko Satō (佐藤 久 美 子, Satō Kumiko ), is a former Japanese figure skater who started in a single run.

Ōkawa 1967 and 1968 Japanese champion. In the period from 1964 to 1968, she participated in the World Championships. Her best result was fifth place, which they reached at the World Championships in 1967 and 1968. It was the best up to this point, placement of a Japanese woman in world championships. Twice represented Ōkawa Japan at the Olympic Games. In 1964, she was 13 and in 1968 she finished eighth.

Ōkawa married the Japanese figure skating record champion Nobuo Satō. Their daughter Yuka Satō 1994 figure skating world champion. Like her husband worked Ōkawa after their competitive career as a figure skating coach.
