Kunkovice

Kunkovice ( German Kunkowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Morkovice - Slížany and belongs to Okres Kroměříž.

Geography

Kunkovice extends Littentschitzer Bergland in the source basin of the creek Kunkovický creek. To the east of the Na pasekách rises (380 m), in the southwest of the Chroustová (345 m ) and northwest of the Lichov ( 381 m) and the Hradisko (518 m). In the north, east and south of the place of forests surrounded.

History

The first written mention of Cuncouicih took place in 1131 in a freight directory of the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdik. In 1349 the village as Cuncowicz 1437 as Kunkowicz, 1463 as Cunkowicz and 1482 was referred to as Kunkovice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kunkovice / Kunkowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Kroměříž. In 1869 the village had 370 inhabitants, and 1880 there were 400 Residents living from agriculture. 1930 lived in Kunkovice 343 people, in 1950 there were only 257 The drastic decline in population due to migration continued in the second half of the 20th century continued and continues to this day.
