Kurd Maverick
Kurd Maverick (actually Cihan Ötün ) is a German house producer and DJ. His pseudonym is a pun on his Kurdish descent.
Life
His first musical success had Cihan Ötün 2005 with a remix of Technotronics " Pump Up The Jam" under the pseudonym Kurd Maverick. The remix appeared on the British music label Ministry of Sound. His first single "The Rub ( I Never rock ) " was released in 2006 on Kontor Records. The vocals for the single come here from Kurd Maverick himself, he had the greatest success with Eddie Thoneick with the House version of the 1980 number - one hits of Loleatta Holloway Love Sensation. The new version came into the UK singles charts at # 39 with " Let's Work " was released in 2007, a third single on Kontor Records.
Maverick is also in demand as a remix artist and has been, among other remixes for Robbie Williams, Bob Sinclar, Basement Jaxx, Rosenstolz, Erick Morillo, Boy George and the Pet Shop Boys produced.
At the beginning of 2010 Kurd Maverick founded his own music label called Otune! Records.
