Kurt Liander

Kurt Liander ( born January 28, 1932 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish football player and coach. He has played five internationals for Sweden.

Career

Liander began playing football at Lunda SK. In 1948 he went for one season on Rosendals IF, before he moved to AIK 1949. In 1951, he was with the youth team Swedish champion and came to its first use in the first team in a cup match against Åtvidabergs FF. Coach George Raynor put him also isolated as a result of the then second division club in a league games. After standing promotion to the Allsvenskan at the end of the season, he was in Råsundastadion celebrate on August 8, 1952 at the home game against Djurgårdens IF his debut in the first division. However, it took until 1954 before he could establish himself in the team. After replacing Kurt Hamrins to Italy took place at the AIK of burglary. After the signing of Lennart Backman and Bengt Karlsson after the end of the season in 1957/58 Liander wanted to end his Erstligakarriere and change in the reserve team. In the season of 1959 he was, however, again reactivated as a reserve player and came on 22 April 1959, his 96th and final top-flight for the club from Solna.

Liander let his career fade unterklassig. His first stop was 1960, the fourth-rate club Råsunda IS, with which he managed to win season in Division 4 Stockholm Norra and thus promotion to the third division. However, he left the club to hire the second division club IFK Stockholm. With the club he played in the midfield of the league in 1966 succeeded behind Hammarby IF the runner-up. In 1967 he took over the club as player-coach. after two years in a relegation battle, he became player-manager at BK Vargarna. In 1970 he succeeded to the fourth division of the promotion to the third division. After the season in 1971, he ended his active career and worked for a year as a coach at the club.

In 1975, he returned as an assistant coach Keith Spurgeon to AIK. In the course of the season, he took over with Jim Nildén as coach. In 1976 he was coach at Täby IS, where he worked until 1978. This was followed by tasks in Spårvägens GoIF, the youth and reserve teams AIK and again a flying visit to Täby IS.

Until his retirement in 1996 he was a full-time physical education teacher.
