Kwamalasamutu, also Kwamalasamoetoe, is a village of Tiriyó Indians in southern Suriname in the district Sipaliwini. It is located on the eponymous river and Kwamalasamutu is the largest settlement in the department Coeroenie.

The town's name means bamboo sand, according to the passed with bamboo nearby river banks and adjacent to the disputed territory with Guyana - see map. Kwamalasamutu is the main settlement of Tiriyó in Suriname. There are also eight other ethnic groups. The English ethnobotanist Mark Plotkin worked here since 1982.
