Kwamena Ahwoi

Kwamena Ahwoi (* 1951) is a politician in Ghana. Under President Jerry Rawlings Ahwoi was Minister of Local Administration and Urban Development (Minister for Local and Rural Development Gocernment ). In 1997 he served in the government of the party of Rawlings, the National Democratic Congress (NDC ) to the post of foreign minister, the second highest position of the government. He founded the Ministry of Regional Integration (Ministry of Regional Integration).

Ahwoi studied law with the Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford in the UK.

Currently, Ahwoi lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration ( GIMPA ) and is considered a leading member of the former ruling party, the National Democratic Congress ( NDC).
