La Croix-Helléan

La Croix- Helléan ( Breton: Ar - Groez Helean, Gallo: La Croèz - Hélian ) is a commune with 848 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pays de Josselin.

Geography

La Croix- Helléan located in the northeast of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Josselin.

Neighboring communities are La Grée -Saint -Laurent in the north, Helléan in the east, Guillac the south and southwest, Josselin in the west and Lanouée in the northwest.

The village itself is located just to the side road D323. But only a few kilometers from La Croix- Helléan off the N 24 runs through the southern municipality. The closest connection to this is La Pyramide at the southern boundary of the municipality.

The only significant body of water is the stream Galourais. It forms part of the boundary of the municipality. In addition, there are some small ponds in the municipality. A significant part of the community area is covered by forests. The largest forest areas is the Bois de Digoët.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro -Sant Malou (French Pays de Saint- Malo ) and within this region to region Porc'hoed (French Porhoët ) and shares his story. From 1801 until its dissolution on 10 September 1926, she was part of the arrondissement Ploërmel. From 1793 to 1801 La Croix- Helléan belonged to the Canton Lanouée. Since then, she is assigned to the Canton of Josselin.
