La Dispute (Band)

La Dispute is an American post-hardcore band that was founded in 2004 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is next to Defeater, Touché Amoré, Pianos Become the Teeth and Make Do and Mend one of the five members of the Movement The Wave and currently stands at No Sleep Records.

History

The band was founded in 2004 by Jordan Dreyer, Brad Vander Lugt, Kevin Whittemore, Derek Rochester Berg and Adam Kool in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Two years later, Derek Rochester Berg and Adam Kool were replaced by Chad Ster Berg and Adam Vass. On 14 April 2008 their debut EP, Vancouver was published by her at that time the label Friction Records.

In the spring of 2008, she signed with the label No Sleep Records. There, her debut album Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair was published on 11 November 2008. From April to May 2010, they toured as the opening act Alexisonfire. On September 14, 2010 their split EP appeared along with Touché Amoré.

On May 3, published La Dispute another split EP, this time with the singer-songwriter Koji, she is entitled Never Come Undone. Then they toured with Make Do and Mend by Canada. This was followed with Touché Amoré and the Norwegian hardcore punk band Death Is Not Glamorous a European tour. On 4 October 2011 the second album Wildlife, the songs The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit and Harder Harmonies, however, were already available digitally appeared. It was followed by several tours in America, Europe and Asia.

On January 14, the track list of the album and the song Stay Happy There was published on February 14, followed by a video for For Mayor In Splitsville. The third studio album Rooms of the House appeared on 21 March 2014.
