La Rivière-Enverse

La Rivière- Enverse is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

La Rivière- Enverse is on 645 m above sea. M., northeast of Cluses, located about 40 km east-southeast of the city of Geneva (air line). The village extends slightly increased on the southern edge of the wide valley of Giffre, in the Savoy Alps, in Faucigny.

The area of ​​7.98 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Savoy Alps. The northern boundary runs along the Giffre, a right tributary of the Arve, which here flows in a wide and largely natural gravel from east to west. From the river, the municipality's area extends southward over the flood plain and up to 2 km wide floodplain. This is followed by a continuously increasing slope, which consisted mainly in the lower part of meadows, but at the top is forested. At the height east of Saint -Sigismond is 1320 m above sea level. M. reached the highest peak of La Rivière- Enverse.

At La Riviere Enverse include the settlements Cellières (650 m above sea level. M. ) and Le Plan (650 m above sea level. M. ), respectively, on the southern edge of the Giffre Valley, as well as numerous farmsteads. Neighboring communities of La Rivière- Enverse are Taninges in the north, and Verchaix Morillon in the east, Arâches la Frasse and Saint -Sigismond in the south and Châtillon -sur -Cluses in the West.

History

La Rivière- Enverse was only in 1770 that is independent of Flérier community.

The village church dates from the 18th century.

Population

With 447 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) La Rivière- Enverse one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. During the 20th century, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1901 were still 542 residents counted in La Riviere - Enverse ). Since the early 1990s, however, a significant increase in population was recorded again.

Economy and infrastructure

La Rivière- Enverse was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by the agriculture and forestry village. Today there are various businesses of the local small business sector. Many workers are commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares of a link road that leads from Châtillon -sur -Cluses to Morillon. The nearest links to the A40 motorway is located at a distance of around 14 km.
