La Ruda

La Ruda (formerly La Ruda Salska ) was a French ska - rock band from Saumur, which was founded in 1993. In December 2012, the band announced their dissolution.

Band History

La Ruda Salska was founded in western France in 1993. For the origin of the band name, there are two theories:

1 The band's name comes from a play on words between "Salsa " and " ska ".

2 The band was inspired by the Polish city of Ruda Śląska.

Over the years, La Ruda Salska developed its own unique style of music from ska, punk, and rock they could present in almost 700 concerts in clubs and at major festivals. Her musical Répertoire amounts to about 60 songs. The great success which made ​​her one of the most famous bands in their segment in France, she encouraged in recent years, increasingly to tour in Europe. Meanwhile, they already played in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary and even Canada. Important influences on their music had bands like The Clash, The The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and especially Mano Negra, with whom they are often compared in France. In recent years, La Ruda already played with musical greats such as Sergent Garcia (France), Millencolin (Sweden), Kemuri (Japan), The Toasters (USA), Skatalites (Jamaica ) ...
