Lacsa

Lacsa ( Lineas Aereas Costarricenses SA) is the national airline of Costa Rica, based in San Jose.

History

The airline was founded in 1946 by Pan American World Airways, the Costa Rican government and private investors from Costa Rica. Flight operations began in 1946, and 1949 Lacsa was raised to the national airline. The regional connections were transferred to Sansa Airlines 1959. The airline today to 86.98 % in free float, Grupo TACA ( 10%) and ASA Lacsa (3.02 %) ( employee insurance company ). Lacsa flies in the association of TACA Regional Airlines today.

By mid-2013 the company was renamed as part of the merger of their respective owners in the unified brand Avianca.

Destinations

Lacsa flies to over 20 destinations in Central, North and South America. All international destinations are marketed under the name TACA / LACSA Costa Rica. Since January 2005, she flies to the following international destinations: Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Chicago, Guatemala City, Guayaquil, Havana, Lima, Los Angeles, Managua, Mexico City, Miami, New York, Panama City, Quito, Santo Domingo, San Salvador, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Toronto.
