Ladies European Tour

The Ladies European Tour (short: LET) is an annual series of golf tournaments for professional golfers. It will be held mainly in Europe but also in Australia, South Africa and Dubai.

The tournament series was introduced in 1979 and since then has great difficulty in establishing itself in addition to the very popular American women's tournament series LPGA Tour. In 2011, the LET has 27 tournaments (one in Germany ) discharged with a total prize money of 11 million euros. The two by far most important tournaments, the Masters in France and the Women's British Open in England was thereby accomplished together with the U.S. LPGA.

Qualification

In addition to various exceptions, in principle, receive the 90 most successful players of the previous year a Tour card for next season. The main reason is the money list, called the Order of Merit. All other professional golfers have to participate in a multi-stage qualifying tournament, the LET qualifiying School and occupy one of the first 30 people there.

The Order of Merit is awarded to the leader of the Order of Merit of the tour, taking in some years, a scoring system was applied.
