Lady Lovely Locks

Lady curls light (English: Lady Lovely Locks) is the main character of a toy series that was produced by Mattel in the years 1987 to 1989. At the same time there appeared a comprehensive 20 episodes animated series with DiC Entertainment. The German version of the Lady- curls light - animated films was in the late 1980s on RTL embedded in the TV show Li -La- Launebär aired. Target audience were girls between the ages of five to ten years.

Toy train

The toy series was distributed by Mattel between 1987 and 1989. The toy figures were about 22 cm tall, Barbie -like doll with long hair to comb, fitted out with clothes, shoes and a comb. Each figure were also several winning streaks, with Countess Raven pride Puschelzwerge in. This winning streaks / Puschelzwerge were small animals with a long tail that could fix the dolls hair and clothes. Thought they were just as hair jewelry for the buyers of Lady curls light products.

Furthermore appeared in the toy line mermaids, elves, dragons, mounts and cats, all also with striking long hair, as well as a folding lock, furniture and a changing wardrobe. Also books, porcelain and a fan magazine, with stories, competitions and side dishes (usually winning streaks ) appeared in the late 1980s.

Animated series

The 20 episodes complete animated series Lady curls light (English: Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixietails ) ran parallel to the 1987 toy series. She is a French- Japanese co-production from the creators of Rainbow Regina and Jem. German Original Air Date was on 30 April 1988, RTL plus.

Plot: Lady curls light reigns over a magical land. With the help of her magic hair, in which the winning streaks (English: Pixietails ) homes to protect them, together with their girlfriends princess silk wave and Princess Goldilocks, her kingdom from fiends and the evil Countess Raven pride that wants to have a beautiful Lady curls light strands to order to gain entry to the magical hall of mirrors and so to seize power of the magic land itself.

Main characters

  • Lady curls light (English: Lady Lovely Locks): blonde heroine who protects with her magic strands the country.
  • Princess Silk Wave (English: Maiden Fair Hair): brunette, intelligent and quiet friend of Lady curls light.
  • Princess Goldilocks (English: Maiden Curly Crown ): red-haired and slightly chaotic friend of Lady curls light.
  • The Masters of Light (English: Shining Wizard Glory ): old wise man who knows many secrets.
  • Prince Herzeloh (English: Prince Strong Heart ): one by a curse into a dog transformed prince.
  • Countess Raven pride (English: Duchess Raven Waves ): the black-haired Countess is the antagonist of Lady curls light.
  • Shaggy tooth (English: Hairball ) and the Puschelzwerge (English: Comb Gnomes ): agents of Countess Raven pride.

VHS / radio plays

All episodes published by DiC Entertainment on VHS ( two episodes / VHS). In Germany, however, only the first three double episodes on VHS released. The label Europe brought out a lady curls light radio drama series, which was arranged chronologically and told a much more complex history than the U.S. TV series did. Although the scripts were based on the series and the given figures, however, were written in Germany and much more on content. Thus, for example, the childhood of Lady theme, Prince Herzeloh released from his evil curse, it married the two figures, and they got over the series nor a daughter.
