Lagavulin Bay

Lagavulin Bay is a small bay on the southern coast of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. It is located about four kilometers east of the ferry terminal and Port Ellen.

At the entrance about 200 m into the country tapping bay is 300 m wide and then expands to a maximum of 450 m. At its head, the small scattered settlement Lagavulin is located. In the eastern part of the bay is today the spirits group Diageo owned distillery Lagavulin. On an outcrop on the eastern entrance of the bay, the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle, the former family seat of the MacDonald clan and seat are to see the Lords of the Isles.
