The Lahad Datu airport (English Lahad Datu Airport, IATA: LDU, ICAO: WBKD ) is the city's airport Lahad Datu, in the Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo.

The airport is a domestic airport for civil purposes, is approved only for use in daylight. Because of its short take-off and landing runway of 1371 m, it can only be approached by smaller machines MASwings up to the size of a Fokker 50. Flights Malaysia Airlines are handled as a codeshare. Connections exist to and from Kota Kinabalu. 2011 113.442 passengers were checked and a total of 2,960 aircraft movements registered.

The airport is managed by a private operator.

Incidents

On April 2, 1955, an accident occurred with a Vickers Valetta C.1 of the Royal Air Force ( RAF). The aileron blocked and brought the machine on landing skid. It broke the chassis. All passengers were unharmed.
