Lake Pyasino

The Pjassinosee (Russian Озеро Пясино, also Pjasinosee ) is a former lake in the Taimyr Autonomous District in the north of Russia's Krasnoyarsk region in Siberia.

It is 735 km ² and a maximum of 10 feet deep. The Pjassinosee lies in the lowlands northwest of the Putoranagebirges south of the Taimyr peninsula at a height of 28 m. It extends over 70 kilometers in north-south direction with a width of up to 15 kilometers.

Important tributary of the lake is from the southeast, the Norilka (also Norilskaja ). In addition, opens a large number of smaller rivers, such as Dschangy and Ambarnaja. In the northeast the Pjassina leaves the lake.

The Pjassinosee freezes from October to June.

15 to 25 kilometers south- southeast of the lake and the city of Norilsk is with their districts Talnach and Kajerkan, whereas the direct vicinity of the lake is uninhabited.
