3500 GTZ

The Lamborghini 3500 GTZ Zagato 1965 presented at the London Motor Show. He technically based on the Lamborghini 350 GT, but the wheelbase compared to the base model was shortened by four inches. Spada's aluminum body reminiscent of the hidden headlights and the demolition of the rear of the Alfa Romeo TZ2 and the Ferrari 250 GTO. The initiative for this project was due to a Lamborghini Milan dealer; Ferruccio Lamborghini, however, held by Zagato version of his car nothing, refusing a series production has therefore off because he felt the car as ugly. Through its more aerodynamically efficient body and the much lower weight of the GTZ was noticeably faster than the basic model; Zagato spoke to 280km / h, a value which was never tested in a test.

A total of two GTZ developed. The exhibit is produced first ( chassis number 0310 ) still exists; it was last in the Ruhr. A second specimen ( chassis number 0322 ) was first used by Lamborghini's chief engineer Paolo Stanzani, before it was sold to Hong Kong and destroyed there in an accident.
