Lancer is an American Western series that was produced 1968-1970.

Action

In the center of the story, the ranch rancher Murdoch Lancer is in California the 19th century. Family father and widower Lancer faces the difficult task of defending his flocks against the forces of nature, bandits and cattle rustlers, which is no longer easy for him in old age. At his side are his two adult sons Johnny and Scott from two marriages as well as the adopted daughter Teresa O'Brien. Johnny is a hothead who would rather shoot first and then ask questions, in complete contrast to his half-brother Scott, who attended college in Boston. Between the two there is because of their fundamentally different character to tensions. In the second season of Cowboy Jelly Hoskins supports the Lancers.

Background

The German premiere took place Sunday afternoon in the 1971 ARD from 14 February. Until July 1972 26 episodes have been sent. The remaining episodes were shown only from May 2000 Premiere Sunset.

As guest stars included performances by Joe Don Baker, Ellen Corby, Jack Elam, Sam Elliott, Bruce Dern, Warren Oates and Stefanie Powers on.
