Landivisiau
Landivisiau ( Landivizio Breton ) is a commune with 9176 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Finistère in Brittany. It belongs to the Communauté de communes Local Government Association du Pays de Landivisiau. Landivisiau applies with its annual horse market as the "capital of the Breton horse ". It is the capital of the eponymous canton, which includes 8 municipalities with a total of around 16,000 inhabitants.
History
Etymology
The name derives from the Breton word Landivisiau lann, with a hermitage is called, and the Holy Thivisiau from whose surname was Gwisiau.
