Langenburg (Saskatchewan)

Langenburg ( Town of Langenburg ) (pronounced / lændʒənbərg / ) is a small town in the Rural Municipality of Langenburg No.. 181 of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

Langenburg is located on Saskatchewan Highway 16 in the southeastern part of the province. The nearest town, Yorkton, located 70 km north west.

Langenburg was settled in the 1880s, mainly by Germans. The city was named first as a " colony Hohenlohe " by Prince von Hohenlohe Langenburg. In winter 1886/87 the place of the Manitoba and North Western Railway was connected. This built a station named Langenburg, which the town derives its name.
