Lanouée

Lanouée ( Breton: Lannoez, Gallo: Lanoés ) is a commune with 1709 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pays de Josselin.

Geography

Lanouée located in the north of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Josselin.

Neighboring municipalities are Les Forges in the northwest and north, La Grée -Saint -Laurent to the east, La Croix- Helléan and Josselin in the southeast, Guégon the south and southwest and Pleugriffet in the West.

The town itself is located on a junction of several roads. The most important among them are the D155 and D157. The D778 Josselin after Loudéac west and the D793 from Josselin to Dinan east of Lanouée are regional road links. The most important national connection is the N 24, which runs only about five kilometers south of the community. The closest connection to this is west of Josselin.

The most important waters are the River Oust, which is here channeled Canal de Nantes à Brest called and the streams Crasseux, Galourais and Pres Jallais. This partially form the boundary of the municipality. In addition, there are numerous small ponds in the municipality. A small part of the community area is covered by forest. The largest forest areas are the Bois de Bas, Bois des Grignars and small shares of the Forêt de Lanouée.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro -Sant Malou (French Pays de Saint- Malo ) and within this region to region Porc'hoed (French Porhoët ) and shares his story. From 1801 until its dissolution on 10 September 1926, she was part of the arrondissement Ploërmel. Between 1793 and 1801 Lanouée (then La Noüe ) capital of the canton Lanouée.
