Lanton, Gironde

Lanton is a commune in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. While Lanton in 1962 still had 1401 inhabitants, is one you currently 6201 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

The municipality belongs to the canton in the Arrondissement Audenge Arcachon. Seen By area, the community is one of the largest in France at all. Lanton is made up of the districts Blagon, Taussat, Cassy and Lanton.

Lanton is northeast of Arcachon located on the opposite bank of the Bassin d' Arcachon. Andernos -les- Bains and Audenge are the neighboring communities.
