Geography

Lanz churches lies at the interface of the Regions Steinfeld, thermal region and hunchback world, at the foot of the Rosalia Mountains. By Lanz churches flowing the Leitha, which arises at the Leitha - origin by the confluence of Pitten and Schwarza in the district Haderswörth, and the channel Mühlbach.

History

Before Christ's birth, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area of the Celtic hillfort castle on the Schwarzenbacher Castle Hill.

Later, under the Romans, the churches today Lanz was then in the province of Pannonia.

In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying, the place told the eventful history of Austria.

According to the data of the 2001 census, 81.1 % of the population Roman Catholic, 3.9% are Protestant. 3.4% are Muslim, 0.9% are members of Orthodox Churches. 9.5% of the population has no religious affiliation.
