Dickkopfanolis
The Dickkopfanolis ( Audantia cybotes ( Syn: Anolis cybotes ) ) is a lizard species from the group of iguana -like. He's on some Caribbean islands that belong to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, at home.
Description
The males reach a maximum size of 18 to 20.3 cm, females are slightly smaller. The color is brownish, never completely green. The males often have greenish or dark brown stripes on body, legs and tail. The dewlap is yellowish, sometimes with an orange stain. The female is brownish - orange with a bright back stripes from head to tail. The body temperature changes, as the Anolis species are like all reptiles cold-blooded animals and are dependent on the temperatures in their environment. During the day, their body temperature rise near ground to an average of more than 30 ° C.
Dissemination and lifestyle
The Dickkopfanolis is on the Caribbean islands of Hispaniola, Ile à Vache, Ile de la Tortue ( Tortuga ), Isla Catalina, Isla Saona, Isla Catalinita, Ile Grande Cayemite, Ile de la Gonâve, Ile à Cabrit, and introduced into Florida spread. He often comes along with other Anolis species from the same habitat, sometimes it comes to hybrids.
The animals live near the forest, rare in the dense forest, rather close to the ground. You can remain long in one position and then quickly change positions. They are rather moderate climber compared to other Anolis. The Dickkopfanolis feed on dragonflies, cockroaches and geckos ball finger.

Subspecies
There are three described subspecies. By isolating these on different islands Radiation is explainable.
- Audantia cybotes cybotes lives on the island of Hispaniola, and some smaller offshore islands, but not on the Isla Saona and the Île de la Gonâve, where they are each represented by one of the other two subspecies.
- Audantia cybotes doris Barbour, 1925, is at home on the Île de la Gonâve.
- Audantia cybotes ravifaux Schwartz and Henderson, 1982, comes on the Isla Saona and - not quite secured - on Isla Catalinita ago.
