Lars Erstrand

Lars Erstrand ( born September 27, 1936 in Uppsala, † March 11, 2009 ) was a Swedish jazz vibraphonist and bandleader.

Erstrand played at the beginning of his career, piano, tuba and trombone and joined the vibraphone, after he had heard Lionel Hampton. With this he later recorded the album Two Generations for the Phontastic label. In the 1960s he worked with Ore Lind, played with Benny Goodman in 1972, worked as a sideman on many recordings and since the 1980s published a series of albums under his own name on the label Opus and Sittel. Erstrand participated in recordings of Arne Domnerus, Joe Newman, Peanuts Hucko All Stars, the Norbotton Big Band, Georg Riedel, Jesper Thilo and Bob Wilber.
