Lars Jansson (composer)

Lars Jansson ( born 1951 ) is a Swedish pianist, keyboardist and composer of the post- bop.

Lars Jansson grew up in Örebro and studied at the Music Academy in Gothenburg. Since the 1970s, he worked as a professional musician, played in the formation of Ove Ingemarsson 1995, the Björn Alke Quartet, the Arild Andersen Quartet and the band Hawk on Flight. In the early 1980s he founded his own band, the Lars Jansson Trio, first with bassist Anders Jormin, then with Lars Danielsson and drummer Anders Kjellberg. In 1991, the album " A Window Towards Being" as a quartet with oboist Brynjar Hoff. As a sideman Jansson worked even when shooting from Lars Danielsson ( " European Voices " ), Goran Kling Hagen, Katrine Madsen, Cæcilie Norby, the Tolvan Big Band of Helge Albin, Peter Vuust and Ulf Wakenius ("First Step", 1992) mit2003 was the Big Band album Temenos.

Lars Janson's piano style is influenced by Bill Evans. He lives in Ljungskile.
