Lars Svensson (ice hockey)

Lars Åke Svensson ( * June 30, 1926 in Stockholm, † June 25, 1999 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Lars Svensson started his career as a hockey player with UOIF Matteuspojkarna, for the first team, he was from 1947 to 1952 in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, active. He then spent three years in the league rivals AIK Solna, before he ran aground in the 1955/56 season for Hammarby IF. He then finished his career at the age of 30 years.

Internationally

For Sweden Svensson took part in the Winter Olympics in Oslo in 1952 and 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo. At the Olympic Winter Games 1952 he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team Sweden was also European champion.
