Lasocice, Greater Poland Voivodeship

Lasocice ( German Laßwitz ) is a village in Poland in the community Swieciechowa ( Schwetzkau ), Wielkopolska Region.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1325. The first owner of the village were Mikołaj Kotwicz, Przecław of Lasocic, Mikołaj Lasocki, and Maciej Lasocki. Beginning of the 15th century was a part of the village Rafał Leszczynski, later the Leszczyńskis owner of the entire village were. In the 16th century two craftsmen, three, or four windmills, three sheep farms were counted, as well as a village inn, which moved into its beer from Leszno. Comes the first note of the Church of the Holy Franziska from 1737. In 1856 it was connected Lasocices to the rail network. The church of the village was in the early 1930s in very poor constructional condition. Therefore, it was sold and then demolished. The present church was built in 1930 as a Protestant church and a Roman Catholic only since 1946. 1920, the village was part of the re- created Poland and was then to 1934 the municipality of Leszno and then to the community Swieciechowa. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, 63 percent of the residents were German. In an administrative reform, the village came 1975 on the newly formed Province Leszno. After its dissolution Lasocice was part of the Wielkopolska Region.

Lasocice is a little village, which stretches from north to south. The road on which stretches along the village leads to about three kilometers north location Swieciechowa. The national road 12 ( droga Krajowa 12) cuts the village in east-west direction and is now much more important road. About four kilometers east crosses the road Leszno.

In Leszno is also the nearest airport, which is, however, suitable only for low - and gliders. The nearest international airport is Lawica, about 70 kilometers north-east.

The village has its own railway station. This offers direct to Leszno and Glogów.

Established businesses

Began in 2006 with the construction of a large bioethanol plant. The total investment is estimated at 200 million zlotys. Furthermore, there are in Lasocice the company Bormasz, an operation for milk processing.
