Latin Pop

Latin Pop a style of pop music, the rhythmic and melodic elements of Latin American music is integrated.

History

Already in the 1950s isolated Latin American elements in pop - tunes were integrated. In the 1960s, then took possession of the rock music of rhythmic heritage, especially of traditional Caribbean and Mexican music styles, what ( Santana and others) led to the development of Latin Rock.

But to a real commercially successful blend of pop and Latin it was only in the 1980s. Here stood out particularly the world - hit Lambada Kaoma (1989). In the 1990s, the Latin American rhythm and melody was more frequently mixed with soul and R & B influences (such as Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Selena ) but also other as yet less well known rhythms in the Latin Pop included (eg. cumbia Romantica ). Characteristic of the Latin pop since the 90s but is also the use of dance beats that are combined with Latin American harmonies ( Paulina Rubio ). The spectrum Latin Pop the style is therefore now very broad.
