The Lauchert is a left tributary of the Danube in Baden- Württemberg.

Geography

Lauchertquelle

The Lauchert springs multiple sources to Melchingen in Zollernalbkreis. Only an officially designated as Lauchertquelle karst spring, east of the town, throwing the whole year. The longer and at times relatively water-rich Willmandingener source stream dries up in the summer.

Course

Crosses on their way south or clips the Lauchert following municipalities: The Burladingen Districts Melchingen, Stetten under federal and Hörschwag that Trochtelfinger Districts Hausen an der Lauchert and Mägerkingen by Gammertingen and its subsites Maria Berg and Bronnen, through the city Hettingen, Veringenstadt and its sub- sites Hermentingen and Veringendorf. Sigmaringer by the district Jungnau, by Bingen and its Teilort Hitzkofen and finally through the villages Sigmaringen district Laucherthal before it opens in Sigmaringen village in the Danube

In Mägerkingen the artificially created in the 1970s Lauchertsee is traversed.

The roll mill at Hörschwag was broadcast by the December 25, 1999 in ARD for the first time, 75 - minute documentary of Rudolf Werner called " The Lord God knows what happens to us - The Sisters of Albmühle " as " Albmühle " known nationwide.

Particularly noteworthy are the Gallus source, the old town of Veringenstadt, as well as the events of the Quaternary climatic troubled when the Alps glaciated several times.
