Laura Leighton
Laura Leighton ( born July 24, 1968 in Iowa City, Iowa; actually Laura Miller ) is an American actress.
Career
She made her first exam in Economics at California State University, Long Beach, before she decided to switch to acting. In 1995 she won the U.S. Magazine Entertainer of the Year Award. In itself year, she was also nominated for the Golden Globes. On the set of the series Melrose Place she fell in love with her co-stars Doug Savant (known from Desperate Housewives ) and married this in May 1998. Both of them now have two children.
Leighton began her career as a member of the Young Americans. Solveig Duda is their German dubbing voice.
Breakthrough
After several appearances in television films, she received in 1993 the role of Sydney Andrews on the hit series Melrose Place, which she played until 1997 and in 1995 earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe. It was also the first part of her career by the way.
