Lauro de Freitas is adjacent to Salvador. In the immediate vicinity of the town is the international airport Salvador- Magalhães, who can be reached quickly by Lauro de Freitas.

In 2009, Lauro de Freitas had, according to official figures of the IBGE 156,936 inhabitants in an area of 59 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 2434 inhabitants per km ², making it good in terms of area 12 times smaller than Salvador.
Infrastructure
In town you can find many small shops and the city government as well as some restaurants and bars. Polite end neighborhoods such as the district Vilas do Atlantico hand, consist of gated residential areas, the so-called Condominios.
