Lázaro Aristides Betancourt

Aristides Lázaro Betancourt Mella ( born July 30, 1936) is a former Cuban athlete.

1960 won Betancourt in 14.3 seconds in the 110- meter hurdles of the Ibero-American Games. 1962 won Betancourt in 14.2 seconds the title at the Central American and Caribbean Games. At the Pan American Games in 1963 Betancourt finished second in wind -aided 14.3 seconds in third place behind the Americans Blaine Lindgren and Willie May

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 Betancourt came second behind Eddy Ottoz in his lead in 14.6 seconds. In his semifinal Betancourt finished in 14, 2 seconds in sixth place

At a height of 1.91 meters his competition weight was 78 kilograms.
