Lectionary 2

Lectionary 2 (referred to the numbering of Gregory -Aland as sigla ℓ 2) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament on parchment leaves. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 10th century. Previously, you had assigned it different time periods. Scrivener is dated to the 9th century, Omont to the 14th century, and Gregory to the 10th century. Nowadays, dating to the 10th century is commonly accepted.

Description

The Code contains lessons of the Gospels ( Evangelistarium ) along with some lacunae. It is described in Greek Unzialhandschrift on 257 parchment leaves ( 28.6 × 21.8 cm). Each side has 2 columns with 18 lines.

History

Originally owned this manuscript Colbert. It has been thoroughly examined by Wettstein and Scholz.

The Code is now in the Bibliothèque nationale de France ( Gr. 280).
