Lee Ailesa

Ailesa Lee ( born August 15, 1954 in Seoul) is a South Korean table tennis player. It was with Korea 1973 Team World Champion.

Career in Korea

With 10 years Ailesa Lee began playing table tennis. She made rapid progress and later won seven in a row, the South Korean national championship. International attention she found when she in 1970 at the Asian Youth Championships title in singles, doubles and with the team won. Four times she participated in the World Championships. They always won a medal with the Korean Team: 1971 Bronze, 1973 Gold and Silver 1975 and 1977. In 1972, she won at the International Championships of Switzerland. In between, she earned her living as a trainer.

A shoulder injury in 1976 forced her to take a break.

Germany

In 1980 she came - against the wishes of their parents - to Germany. Conveys had the contact of the time playing in Frankfurt footballer Bum Kun Cha. She joined the Bundesliga club FTG Frankfurt. Here they remained for two years, and achieved a positive balance of 65:2 and 64:4. In 1982, she returned to Korea. Renewed complaints with the shoulder forced her to end her career in competitive sports.

Functionary in Korea

1981 belonged to Lee Ailesa the founders of the Korean Women's Sports Association (WSA ). Later she began a coaching career. She supervised the Korean Women's Team at the 1984 Olympic Games until 2004.

Private

Lee Ailesas father worked as a civil servant, then as a contractor. She has three brothers and four sisters. After high school she worked at a bank.
