Left Youth Solid

The Left Youth Solid (own spelling Linksjugend ['solid ] ) is a German youth organization. He is a recognized party-affiliated youth organization of the party Die Linke.

Self-understanding

The organization describes itself as anti-capitalist, socialist, anti -fascist, democratic basis and feminist. Solid stands for " socialist, left, democratic."

The youth organization wants to be a platform for radical social criticism and self-determined policy. The youth organization is committed to a society that is to overthrow capitalism, as well as establishing a " libertarian, classless society." Banks and corporations should " be transferred to public ownership " it ( nationalization ).

The youth organization sees itself as part of the emancipatory movements and looking at international level, cooperation with other political youth structures also see themselves as socialists, communists and anarchists. He also sees itself as representing the interests of young people in the left and the Left Party.

The parliamentary system is seen as a stage that will be used in the struggle for a more just world. But the struggle against capitalism is to be particularly outside parliament, as only the extra-parliamentary movement could bring about real change. The Left Youth Solid focuses primarily on " massive resistance, the self-organization of companies, schools and universities and conscious action of the organized majority of the population ".

History

On the 9th Federal Delegates Conference ( BDK ) by Solid - the socialist youth, the Left Party -affiliated youth organization that links youth Solid was founded. As part of the Youth League understood as a youth organization of the - at that time not fully vested in the foundation phase - the Left Party. The Left Youth Solid does not see itself as the successor organization of the youth organization Solid, but as a foundation of various youth organizations. On the first Federal Congress ( Buko ) the Left Youth Solid Leipzig in the program of the Youth League was decided in April 2008, the current version has existed since 2011.

The association is a member of the European Network of Democratic Young Left ( ENDYL ), a network of left and democratic youth organizations in Europe.

Structure

The institutions at the federal level the Federal Congress ( Buko ), the BundessprecherInnenrat ( ELAT ), the Länderrat and the Federal Arbitration Commission and Federal thematic working groups (BAK ). These generally meet publicly.

Membership is open to individuals aged 14 to 35 are, with the cooperation of the Youth League of age is independent. Sympathizers have largely the same rights as members.

The promotion of equality of the members is a basic principle of the association. Events

The links organized youth camps and retreats with political and emancipating. Furthermore, content workshops, role-plays and political actions take place. The first camp Ya Basta! was held in Bielefeld in the summer of 2007. 2008 was followed by the Climate Camp in Hamburg, which was put together by the Federal Working Group climate of links youth and on which the Association participated with its own Barrio, in September 2008 the Federation participating in the 5th European Social Forum in Malmö (Sweden) with a private event.

Observation by the Protection of the Constitution

The youth organization is mentioned in the course of the observation of the Left Party by the Constitutional protection of the Federal Constitution in the protection reports in 2007 and 2008 and is filed under " left wing extremist activity and suspected cases ". However, an assessment of the general association takes place in either of the two reports. From the Protection of the Constitution of the State of Baden- Württemberg, the Stuttgart local group is classified as left-wing extremism. The youth organization is mentioned in this Annual Report of the Federal of 2010 and 2011 under " leftism ", but not in the report for 2012.
