Leipoldtville

Leipoldtville is a village on Langvleirivier in the Cederberg municipality, district, West Coast, Western Cape Province in South Africa. It is located 21 km north-east of Elands Bay, three kilometers west of Graafwater in Sandveld on the road R365. In 2011 the town had 298 inhabitants.

It was founded in 1905 when Pastor CJ Leipoldt of the Dutch Reformed Church in Clanwilliam a new church founded to supply the farmers of the remote area with spiritual counsel.

The name refers to the son of the pastor, the renowned South African poet of the 19th century, C. Louis Leipoldt.

Economically the village lives of the surrounding farms. There mainly potatoes are grown.
